DBZ: Intro to Zen Weekend at Dai Bosatsu Zendo/Registration Closed

Join us for this unique opportunity to experience Rinzai Zen Buddhist practice deep in the Catskill Mountains. Taught by our incoming abbot, Chigan Roshi, with the assistance of monastics and long-time practitioners, we will focus intensively on the central elements of Zen practice — zazen (seated meditation with attention to posture and breath), chanting, and samu (work practice). We will also learn how to use jihatsu (three traditional bowls) in formal meals, eating attentively in silence. Chigan Roshi will give a teisho on Saturday night and meet with participants for a question-and-answer period. The weekend concludes on Sunday with an informal lunch and group discussion. ZSS Health Protocols apply. The fee is $225 for members, $250 for nonmembers. No one will be turned away for lack of funds; please contact the office for assistance.
