New York Zendo is open for zazen mornings Monday through Thursday in person and online from 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. Doors open at 6:30 a.m. After the sit, there will be a few minutes available for informal discussion and check-ins.
A quiet atmosphere with minimal distractions is essential to our practice; please set any electronic device to silent mode. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. A $10 donation is requested. ZSS Health Protocols apply.

Newcomers to the temple should attend one Introduction to Zen Meditation class, held on Thursday evenings, before joining the community for other practice events. The introduction covers the basics of Zen meditation: posture, breathing, and concentration. Beginners will also learn the forms used at New York Zendo for bowing, chanting, and walking meditation (kinhin). No prior experience is necessary.
