Please join us for the 2024 Jukai (Ten Precepts) ceremony at Dai Bosatsu Zendo. Led by Chigan Roshi, this ceremony will witness and honor the commitments of this year’s Jukai students, who will vow to uphold the Zen precepts for lay students. These students will formally become Buddhists and will receive a Dharma name and a rakusu (traditional Japanese garment worn by those who take the precepts).
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m., just after the closing of Harvest sesshin. There will be a celebratory informal lunch after the ceremony.
For those attendees coming from the NYC area, there will be a shuttle van leaving from New York Zendo Shobo-ji at 7 a.m. on November 7th and returning to NYC in the early evening of the same day. If you would like to take this shuttle, please select the “with shuttle” registration option below. Seats are extremely limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Note there will be no bus station pick-up, so if you do not have your own mode of transportation, we encourage you to register for the shuttle.
The fee is $50 the ceremony, lunch, and shuttle; and $25 for the ceremony and lunch only. ZSS Health Protocols apply.
