Samu Weekends at Dai Bosatsu Zendo
Join us for the weekend at Dai Bosatsu Zendo to participate in samu, or work to maintain the monastery. When weather allows, samu focuses on outdoor work, such as gardening and raking. Participants may also engage in nittensoji (temple cleaning), working in the tenzo (kitchen), or other tasks in and around the monastery. Mindful work is emphasized.
All are welcome, including families. Please email office@daibosatsu.org in advance to confirm which weekend you are planning to attend and to let us know about any specific skills or talents you have! Orientation takes place in the late afternoon on Friday. There is no fee for Samu Weekends, but donations are gratefully accepted. See the calendar for upcoming dates.
New York Zendo
We are always grateful for volunteers who can participate in temple cleaning, small repairs, gardening, data input, and bookkeeping. If you are available on a regular basis or just want to come for a few hours, please email the New York Zendo at office@newyorkzendo.org.
