NYZ: Breathe.Read.Write.

October 3 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Lisa Freedman will lead this meditation and freewriting workshop. Every time we guide our wandering minds back to the breath, we offer ourselves a fresh start. Every time we meditate and then freewrite in response to a poem, we are in a realm of unlimited possibilities. Freewriting (just letting the pen move, non-stop) can be a vehicle for this realm. We will gather and then meditate, read a poem or short piece of prose, freewrite from it, share our writings, listen closely, and respond without critiquing. Come enjoy this chance to cultivate stillness and express what arises.

No meditation or writing experience is needed.

Registration not required. $20 suggested donation.

Participants must follow the temple’s current Covid protocols. Additionally, as an immunocompromised person, Lisa requests that you do a covid test before you come and that you stay home if you are having any covid symptoms.

Since BRW is happening at dinnertime, you are welcome to bring a brownbag meal and eat at Shobo-ji before or after the meditation and freewriting circle. This is available from 5:30 to 5:55 or from 8 to 8:30 p.m.
