NYZ: 52nd Anniversary Weekend Sesshin
September 11 @ 7:00 pm - September 13 @ 6:00 pm
Dokuro Osho, the Dharma heir of Shinge Roshi, will lead this sesshin to commemorate the founding of our temple. New York Zendo Shobo-ji opened its doors on September 15, 1968, and was one of the first Rinzai Zen practice centers to be established in the United States. For over half a century, we have continued to offer authentic Rinzai Zen training amid the never-ending bustle of life in Manhattan. In addition to zazen, chanting, and kinhin, there will be a teisho and dokusan. Formal meals will be served. There is limited space for those who need to stay over at the zendo; reserve in advance.
The fee is $140 for members and $165 for others. If you have any questions, or if this will be your first sesshin at NYZ or DBZ, before you register call 212-861-3333, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
