Online: Martin Luther King Jr. Sesshin

January 14 @ 7:00 pm - January 16 @ 6:00 pm

Based on the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in the New York area, and in consultation with our teachers, monks and other members of the Pandemic Working Group, this event has been shifted to an online format.

This weekend sesshin will honor the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to combat racial inequality through nonviolent means. New York Zendo will be the host, with the assistance of a small group of officers, and Hokuto Sensei will lead the sesshin via Zoom. Please register to participate with us online. The online schedule will include zazen, choka (morning service), Dharma talks and Dharma interviews, with breaks for kinhin (walking meditation) and mealtimes on your own at home.

Suggested donation for online participation: $100-200.
