DBZ: Ho-On Holy Days Sesshin

April 4 @ 3:30 pm - April 11 @ 3:00 pm

This special Ho-On (Requiting our Dharma Debt) Sesshin will include a one-year commemoration of our founding abbot, Eido Tai Shimano Roshi, who passed away February 19, 2018. Sogen Yamakawa Roshi, abbot of Shogen-ji in Gifu, Japan, will lead the memorial services, and will stay through April 7, giving teisho and dokusan. Shinge Roshi will continue leading the sesshin and will give teisho and dokusan. Because of the significant nature of this HoOn Holy Days Sesshin, be sure to sign up right away to reserve your place.

During this Sesshin we will also honor the birth of the baby Buddha with a special ceremony and beautiful flower pavilion and commemorate Master Rinzai, the father of our school. Experience the beginning of this season of renewal on the mountain, with early spring breezes, new shoots emerging through snow, and ice melting on the lake. It is a wonderful time for a spiritual resurgence after a long, hard winter.

Plan to attend this rare event. The fee is $440 for members, $495 for non-members. Transportation may be available from New York City. If you have any questions, or if this will be your first sesshin at DBZ, please call 845-439-4566 or email office@daibosatsu.org before you register.
